Ponderous

{subject artist: Two Nu song: Ponderous}

I have to admit that I often have odd thoughts. These are made even stranger (and that's by my standards so that's saying something) by a lack of sleep. So here's my thought for the day.

Have you noticed that no two people have the same sound to their voice. Think about how you are able to identify a caller on the other end of the phone within seconds because of their voice. Now think of how many people you have come across in your lifetime that have sounded alike. Rare, huh? And yet our general makeup, as humans, is similar. We're all using the same 'ole vocal cords (well, not really the same but you get my point) and yet everyone sounds so different. That equates to millions of people - billions if you think globally - that are using the same small part of their body to produce an individual sound for each. Crazy!

Ok, so I should have said odd and sometimes lame thoughts.

I am not alive and I am not dead

{subject artist: Type O-Negative song: Suspended in Dark}

Sometimes I feel so painfully normal that I’m bored with myself and my life. Sometimes I feel like I’ve lived adventures that most have not – like traveling to China and Cambodia by myself. Other times I wonder if I might not be a little bit warped! I love Blue October’s latest song which talks about binding and torturing a guy. My idea of a great love song is the something like the STP song which states, “if you should die before me ask if you can bring a friend….” or the Smiths singing “if a double-decker bus, crashes into us, to die by your side well the pleasure the privilege is mine.” I like things that are dark, sinister and even a touch macabre.

Does everyone have these multifaceted sides to themselves? If not then I feel alone. If so…. that means I’m back to painfully normal.

*sigh*
